At Hampton Roads Pride, we deeply understand the significance of making a positive impact on the lives of individuals within our community. We are thrilled to announce that, during PrideFest in June 2024, we will be awarding scholarships totaling more than $20,000.
These scholarships are merit-based and heavily consider academic achievement of applicants in addition to community involvement. Hampton Roads Pride is committed to supporting the educational pursuits of individuals who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, or Questioning (LGBTQ+), or those affiliated with related communities (including, but not limited to, Intersex, Asexual, Pansexual, Two-spirit, Nonbinary, Agender, and Genderqueer). Additionally, we extend our scholarship opportunities to LGBTQ+ allies—individuals who may not identify as LGBTQ+ but wholeheartedly support and ally with the LGBTQ+ community.
The scholarships will be disbursed directly to each recipient's educational institution in June 2024. Please note - scholarship recipients will have the option to either attend Pride Night at Harbor Park or PrideFest at Town Point Park to be recognized for their achievements. Selected scholarship recipients will be notified of their awards via email, but due to the high volume of applications, not all applicants will be notified if not selected as a recipient.
